The Ukulele Jam
This engaging activity introduces participants to the ukulele, fostering cross-functional collaboration. Within 20 minutes, attendees progress from novices to playing chords and songs, experiencing a sense of empowerment and accomplishment. The session culminates in playing various regional songs and a jam session with facilitators, demonstrating the group's newfound musical skills.
About the activity
This brand new engagement activity boasts of a very important trait – cross functional collaboration!
• Everybody in the audience gets a ukulele – a sweet sounding 4 stringed instrument that is known to be the happiest instrument
• When the audience realises that they have to learn the instrument, there’s an immediate gasp because of a lack of knowledge about the instrument… but fast forward into 20 minutes, the group is enjoying playing various chords and on the verge of playing a song all by themselves!
• The facilitators take the audience through a fun and empowering journey. We choose to call it empowering because the audience learns to play and perform with every passing minute which is a tremendous effort considering they didn’t know how to play it at all
• From learning chords to strumming the ukulele to even playing a popular set of songs – the experience leaves everyone in awe of not only the instrument but their ability to overcome the impossible
The audience learns to play various regional songs in Hindi, Tamil, Konkani and ends the session on a high with a jam along with the facilitators.
